Mark Lapidos started The Fest, an annual Beatles fans’ celebration, 34 years ago, and since 1985 he has run The Fest using FileMaker Pro. The Fest has grown so that today Mark communicates with a mailing list of 156,000 Beatles fans, and he relies on FileMaker Pro 9 to automate his mailing list notices, inventory of Beatles merchandise, and his online store and shipping. He has even harnessed the external SQL data sources (ESS) feature in FileMaker Pro 9 to integrate his FileMaker e-commerce system with various SQL sources.
